Synopsis: Cath Kyle returns to the modern day convent where she was once a nun when ‘summoned’ by a former mentor. She finds things have changed. Sister Martha, the elderly nun, is now blind and Sister Dominic, the mentor, spends her days locked in her room dressed only in a white bathrobe.

About the Playwright: Vanda’s first full-length play, An Appearance of Desire, was a finalist in The Eugene O’Neill National Playwriting Conference, as well as a finalist for a Jerome Foundation Grant. Her one act play You Can’t Get Uptown on the Downtown Train was last performed at the Lower Eastside Festival. It won Honorable Mention in The Attic Theatre of Los Angeles’ Festival of One Act Plays and was also a finalist in The Perishable Theatre Women’s Contest. Our Lady of Stone was a first place winner in The Out on the Edge Festival. Kvetching with the Virgin Mary was selected to be performed at the Samuel French Festival of One Act Plays. Vanda’s one acts have been produced in New York City and Boston.
Our Lady of Stone was first produced by Developmental Stages, NYC in 1996, and was winner of the Out on the Edge Festival of One Act Plays in 1998.
